The HISTORY

-The story behind its beauty-

Along the road going to Mines View Park, through Barangay Pucsusan, is an old pine tree, more or less 250 years old, which has been declared the oldest pine tree in the Summer Capital of the Philippines by the Tree Preservation Foundation of the Philippines in 1985. It wilted and died, so then it was declared dead by the environmental department. Therefore, the barangay captain of barangay Mines View suggested that the above said tree be chopped into logs to make it useful in building schools, but the citizens of Mines View wanted to preserve the tree’s beauty, so they came up with the decision to carve the tree and turn it into a tourist spot.
